With a voice to melt the coldest hearts and an overwhelming passion for music, Kirsty Anderson is recognised as one of the brightest and most promising Opera singers in the UK today.
Her sensational vocal performances and proactive attitude have certainly won her a substantial fan following all over the country.
This girls devotion to music is undeniable. Beginning her singing career at the tender age of six, her desire to sing and interest in the industry eventually led to Kirsty to some of the greatest stages in England with award winning choirs and orchestras. In 2007 she joined the Stanley Opera Company where she was placed directly in the spotlight. Since then, she has regularly performed with this company to capacity crowds resulting in remarkable critical acclaim. Originally self-taught, Kirsty began to take lessons only one year ago. She has been taught by some of the best names in Classical music, including Margaret Field from the Birmingham Conservatoire, Norman Wright of D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, international mezzo-soprano Maria Jagusz and Australian tenor, Anthony Roden.
But it was in 2009 when Kirsty’s career catapulted, after she took home the title of the winner of Open Mic UK 2009. Since winning, Kirsty’s fan base has exploded! She’s been featured by various radio stations across the UK, enjoyed massive attention from the media and has been performing at popular regional and national events.
In just one year she has developed into a singing sensation, taking to the impressive stages of Britains most prestigious venues, including Symphony Hall, Birmingham and The 02 Arena, Greenwich. She has also performed at the Walkers Stadium in Leicester to a crowd of 24,000.
She’s now working on new material and re-inventing the classical music scene. Her first album “Introducing – Kirsty Michele Anderson” was released in May 2011 and can be purchased from all major music download sites worldwide including Amazon and itunes. She has also recorded with established British dance DJ Darren Styles on his album “Feel the Pressure” which has been receiving rave reviews since its release in August 2010. Kirsty’s other credits include professionally acting in Lloyd Webber’s “Evita” during its 2008 UK tour and she’s won countless awards for her singing.
In April 2010, Kirsty made her operatic debut as Mimi in Puccini’s La bohème, performing alongside top tenor Alexander Anderson-Hall. This year, she played ‘Gilda’ in Verdi’s ‘Rigoletto’ and has once again been met with glowing reviews from theatre critics.
With a classic voice and modern outlook on the industry, Kirsty’s definitely one to watch!
Kirsty is currently based in West London and is available to perform in opera productions, recitals, concerts, weddings and corporate events. Specialising in classical songs, Kirsty has accumulated a huge repertoire which stems from her experiences of performing in theatres and concert halls throughout the UK.
