The Stanley Opera Company Presents:
THE SAINTS AND SINNERS SHOW

They say the devil has all the best tunes. But who will win when Heaven meets Hell in the ultimate singing competition? In this brand new concert, Stanley Opera return to what they do best, singing some of the most beguiling songs of sin and virtue from many of the greatest shows in musical theatre and opera. With a cast of 50, including plenty of newcomers and one of the largest casts in Stanley Opera’s history, The Saints and Sinners Show features the company’s principals and chorus, some familiar faces in the roles of Lucifer and the Archangel Gabriel, a troupe of visiting dancers, not to mention plenty of comedy. This is a show that no saint or sinner should miss. Which are you?

A Night at the Oscars – Charity Fundraiser

On Saturday November 13th we are once again holding our annual biggest Fundraiser ball. This years theme is the Oscars. Kirsty Michele Anderson, winner of Open Mic UK 2009 will be making a special guest appearance along with several house-hold names.

Barwell and Earl Shilton Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International one of the largest service organisations in the world. With clubs in one hundred countries and with 2 million members working on the ground we know that local people are in the best position to understand where help is needed and how best to offer support.

At home, the Barwell and Earl Shilton Lions Club offers support to the local community and charities in a variety of different ways, from buying essential equipment for someone with a disability, offering hands on help to an elderly resident to tidy their garden, or giving financial help to the local children’s hospice.

A Gala Charity Concert in support of SSAFA
The forces help charity, supporting those who serve. Supporting serving and ex-serving British servicemen and women for 125 years.
Join Councillor Robin Baldry, Chairman of Derbyshire County Council, and ‘do your bit’ for his chosen charity.
Enjoy an evening of music and song to inspire, soothe and celebrate, with a programme including The Band of 73 Engineers Regiment, Kirsty Anderson ‘The Cadet Forces Sweetheart’, The Mercian Ensemble, Soloists and Chorus of Present Company, Children from Stagecoach, Derby.

This wonderful melodrama – a gripping tale of the hunchback jester who hires a hit man to murder his master, with terrible and unforeseen consequences – is one of the greatest stories ever told and contains some of the most sublime music ever written. Stanley Opera are proud to bring Verdi’s number one hit to the Hinckley Concordia Theatre for four performances spread across two weeks in April 2011. Relocating the action to the spectacular setting of the Venice Carnival, Rigoletto promises to be one of the most memorable productions in Stanley Opera’s history.
